my name is
Thank you for wanting to get to know me. I'd love to get to know you, too.
I've been in your shoes
In high school I was diagnosed with IBD. My doctor encouraged me to learn as much about nutrition and my new diagnosis as possible. I discovered the reference book Prescription for Nutritional Healing and began learning how to help my body through nutrition and herbs. I then discovered a book Patient, Heal Thyself by Jordan Rubin, one of the pioneers of Wellness. Implementing things I learned help keep my IBD well managed.
In my 20s, I gained 50 lbs and was diagnosed with hypothyroid disease. Again, I turned to nutrition to help me feel better, lose weight, and manage my symptoms. It became obvious that nutrition is my passion and purpose. I knew I wanted to help people like me.
I enrolled in Drexel University’s Nutrition Science program. I quickly learned what I had suspected: although I knew a lot about the emerging wellness industry, I knew very little about nutrition. Throughout my program, I unlearned a lot of things that my bffs Google and health bloggers had taught me. I learned nutrition through the life cycle from lactation to end of life. After graduation, I worked in food and nutrition in a healthcare setting. My role focused on therapeutic diets and food allergies.
Anyone can get you to lose weight. My personal health journey, education and professional experience are what make me different than other options. Working with me means your immediate and long term health are nonnegotiables. My definition of health includes mental health. Your mental health is as important to me as what you put in your mouth. I’ve collaborated with one of the leaders in adult behavioral health to create a nutrition program that turns your intentions into healthy habits that will serve you throughout your life.
Changing your health is the most powerful thing you can do. It influences friends and family to address their health. Everyone learning how to care for themselves and feel great is the shift needed to change the world.
Plus, we're living longer than ever. You're going to want to go to the bathroom unassisted as long as possible. Don't you want to work with someone who thinks like this?
